4th - Profile Projects
Fourth graders combined what they have learned in Spanish this year and created a Profile Project, which is all about their likes, dislikes, favorite foods, age, and how they would describe themselves. There has been a lot of creativityput into their projects and the results have been great!Middle School in D.C.
Last week Middle School went to Washington D.C. where they visited many memorials, museums, and historic sites! They had a great time and below they are pictured just outside the Capital, after their tour of the Capital.
I loved the fact that most of the kids took to watching Dora the Explorer on the plane! They were getting their Spanish in!

K-2 Music
In music these past few weeks, students got pumped up for the Science Fair with the 'mysterious' oven rack trick. We discussed that vibration causes and sound, and sound travels in waves. The 'mysterious' oven rack gets less mysterious as you get older, but sounds really cool nonetheless!
Zucchinis in Technology?!
Your 2nd or 3rd Grade student may have come home talking about the zucchini people, so I thought I had better clarify! At school we have been playing Zoombinis Logical
Journey. This educational game is based around the "Zoombinis", a race of small blue creatures which are depicted with varying eyes, noses, hair, and feet. They are peaceful and successful, living on a small island called Zoombini Isle. Their lives are interrupted by a race called the Bloats, who offer to expand trade routes and improve the Zoombinis' quality of life; instead they take advantage of the situation and enslave the Zoombinis. The Zoombinis therefore decide to flee and search for a new home, and on their journey they encounter a variety of logic puzzles which the player must solve.
